Practice Setting: I work for HouseCalls division of United Health Group making annual home health assessment visits. This is an excellent opportunity for beginning NP students to hone physical assessment skills. There are opportunities to practice point of care testing such as A1C, FOBT, simple urine dipstick, QuantaFlo peripheral artery disease testing, patient and family education, interaction with community PCP, initiate case management and social worker consult and prescribing. There is also the possibility of completing virtual video visits. The patient population is adult and gerontology.
