APRN Petition

Posted about 11 years ago by Jo Ann Fisher

To my Advanced Practice Colleagues,

Please distribute to all that support this petition to remove barriers that prevent APRNs from practicing to their full scope!

Many of you are already aware that a petition has been posted on the White House website asking the Obama administration to remove barriers that prevent APRNs from practicing to their full scope.  The petition is part of  “We the People,”  a platform on the White House website where individuals can create and sign petitions that call for action by the federal government on a range of issues facing our nation. If a petition gathers enough signatures, it will be reviewed by White House staff and receive an official response.

In order to get a response from the White House, the petition needs to garner 100,000 signatures in 30 days.  The deadline for the current petition is April 22, 2013.  If you would like to sign the petition, a direct link can be found below.  You will have to copy and paste in your search bar. First you will fill out a 4 line application, and you will very quickly receive an email from We the People. It will then allow you to click on Sign this petition. Simple instructions will also let you go back in and change the password they send. I may not be as political as some in this state , but I will say that if we as "Providers" cannot even take the time to cut, paste and click on behalf of our professiona, then maybe we deserve to have limited practice!
